Bountiful Baskets Food Co-op

This week we tried something new. We tried out a food co-op for our produce. I’m not sure how long they have been doing this in our area but I’m glad we heard about it. For much much less than we spend at the grocery store on produce, we came home with a boat-load (or more accurately, basket-load) of fruits and vegetables. Check out bountifulbaskets.org.

For $15 this is what we got. There are apples, oranges, a pineapple, blackberries, bananas, a cantaloupe, two giant jicamas, cucumbers, red lettuce, red potatoes, green beans, and tomatoes.

We also got the Mexican pack. It included green onions, yellow onions, avocados, limes, garlic, cilantro, tomatillos, chili peppers, and grey squash. All that for $7.50.

Jennie is making salsa as I type.
